I seen on one of our fans twitter pages we were seriously enquiring about both Stephen O'Donnell (ex-Killie) and Daniel Harvie (ex-Ayr) both free agents. Apparently we need Tom James to find another club before we can offer O'Donnell a deal and the likelihood is Sean MacKie would need to be moved on for Harvie to come in. I'd be delighted with both these players as they'd certainly be an upgrade but can any fellow Hibees shed some light on the legitimacy of this?

Heckingbottom coming out today saying he's targeting pace, power and stamina as regards potential signings. Omeonga and McNulty we know are wanted and hope to return and both fall into that bracket, but who else?
I think Kamberi's days are numbered if Hecky can oversee his vision and Slivka is another who may find gametime hard to come by.
1.) 24 May 2019 18:29:35
two of our best players if a manager instills confidence, slivka is class just a bit injury prone kamberi plays like a lot- when he needs a contract.

Now that Omeonga has sealed his loan all we really need now is a quality goalscorer!
You've got to applaud both Lennon and the board for the pedigree of player we're trying to entice.
Ryan Gauld is a level above most of Scotland without breaking sweat and has already said he wouldn't rule out a permanent move if it suited both parties.
Scott Allan signing a three year pre-contract is very pleasing and I expect him to arrive before the window closes after he can agree a payoff.
Once that happens I believe Lewis Morgan will arrive on a six month loan to increase our options on the flanks. That being said returning Horgan out to the wing has recaptured his early season form and we're hopefully now going to see why Lennon chased him for so long.
Tommy Block has arrived and will be knocking on the first team door by next season after a period of adjustment.
We've been linked with a few strikers and been offered just as many but it appears we're taking due diligence before plunging in.
Shankland, Cummings, McNulty are to name a few we're heavily linked with but it amazes me why no top flight team chases Stephen Dobbie. I've said for years he was the one that got away at Easter Road and has proved himself continually since leaving. He's kept himself in shape and his brain gives him a yard head start over his opponents. A penalty box predator who could also take Shaw under his guidance and nurture the raw talent.
1.) 22 Jan 2019 12:37:50
100% agree on the Dobbie story, and i'll take any of the 1st 3 names you mention.
06 Jan 2019 01:22:44
Gauld deal done!
Scott Allan next PLEASE
If we've been offered striker Marko Futacs as been reported get him on board too looks like he could give us another dimension. We've not had a target man at Easter Road for years and this boy could be the answer.
1.) 06 Jan 2019 15:59:13
haven't seen Gauld confirmed but agree he could be a good signing.
worry about scott allan though, he could have been signed on a pre contract but no sign of it. think either him or hibs have other options. last thing we need is a target man, we need forwards to play off a target man. kamberi at his best is a good target man. notice OZ failed to score against jordon with mclaren up front. no more needs said.
2.) 06 Jan 2019 19:50:50
spanishhibby I can't see Allan joining before end of month as Celtic will try and get some money for him first, we'll need to trust he'll insist ER is his next move and is prepared to hold out. Unless the board stump up some money I think most likely it'll be another prolonged drawn out process.
I disagree I think a target man to hold the ball up and win the aerial battles is exactly what Lennon is crying out for hence his bemoaning of Kamberi. We're still putting crosses into the box despite our decreased quality from the engine room but we're not capitalising on them, in truth we're not even challenging for most of them. Kamberi will score more off the second ball with a towering partner taking the bumps and bruises, McLaren I suspect will be sent packing not performing and unavailable too often.
Agyepong remains an enigmatic mystery, promised so much but either injury or lack of desire to play probably confirms why Lennon is searching for what appears to be a direct replacement in the English loan market. I'd be amazed if we're going to play with what is normally classed as two luxury players, especially two that are unproven in the professional ranks.
I suspect an all action midfielder will be high up on the wish list, albeit most likely not of SJM's quality. With the exception of Mallan no other midfielder has nailed down a starting place so far and I think Mallan has suffered for it. We forget he's only a boy himself, before SJM left Mallan looked like a world beater and some quality alongside him would relieve some pressure.
3.) 08 Jan 2019 20:53:22
I beg to differ Stevie Mallan has at no time looked a world beater, other than deadball situation he offers nothing! We all would look better players with better players around us but I would rather we just had better players than mallan!
01 Jan 2019 17:15:35
As expected Hyndman sent back to Bournemouth I wouldn't be surprised if Nelom and Agyepong follow suit. Scott Allan remains our top target and hopefully a loan for Mulumbu could be negotiated while we're at it! Ross McCormack, Eaves and Shankland being mentioned and I'd welcome all three as Kamberi needs help ASAP! Shaw isn't physically ready and McLaren for whatever reason has fallen out of favour.
SIGNINGS REQUIRED SEND CV TO EASTER ROAD.
1.) 02 Jan 2019 05:43:36
Should've signed Mulumbu in the summer, still don't know why he went there - he was never going to get a game.
I know the money is the best he could hope for at his age etc but rotting away your last 2 or 3 years on the bench is a waste.
2.) 04 Jan 2019 02:42:11
Wether you believe me or not there are many players who don’t care about playing every week as long as the moneys right Mulumbu at his age dosnt care! and Scott Allan is one greedy guy! Who will go to the highest bidder regardless of who that is.
3.) 04 Jan 2019 22:27:51
I said the same thing about Allan before we brought him back on loan before, thankfully it worked out pretty well.
If we don't sign harder working midfielders that can shut the ball down and win/ pass it Allan will be ineffective if he comes back again.
Gauld is another lightweight attacking midfielder too.
At this rate we'll be playing 3 or 4 number 8s in midfield with none of them putting a tackle in or closing the ball down.
4.) 04 Jan 2019 22:55:47
Gauld would/ will be a great signing and proved before he left Scotland that he had an appetite for the game constantly wanting the ball looking to make things happen. Scott Allan we all know what he brings to the table if we can come to a compromise with Celtic and in fairness the player himself who has previously put finances ahead of his career.
However I do agree we need to balance any "creative" signings with upgraded Marvin Bartley type players which I thought we had initially with Milligan. Hence why I would certainly enquire about Mulumbu who was magnificent for Killie in this role last season second only to SJM in grabbing the games by the scruff of the neck. I trust Lennon to find the remedy this transfer window. GGTTH.

Heckingbottom might not of been my own choice for manager as I've said previously but he's certainly started off strongly. He talks and conducts himself in a friendly and professional manner which so far appears to be to the liking of the players.
Money dictates all in football but already McNulty looks like he could be a shrewd recruitment if possible. We've missed someone who can score from six yards regular, sounds easy but a poachers instinct has been missing from our side for years.
PLEASE KEEP THESE RESULTS COMING. top six we're starting to believe GGTTH.

Looking like Michael Appleton for new head coach.
Whats everyone's thoughts?
Oxford fans saying he's the best manager they've ever had and would welcome him back in a heartbeat.
Todays result puts us into the quarter final of The Scottish Cup so still potentially something of real note to play for.
Hopefully the new man coming in will play the players in their recognised positions which clearly pays dividends. Prime example Daryl Horgan who has come in for some heavy criticism since his arrival. A much sought after winger who arrived and looked dangerous first few games prior to injury. His return seen him move in field due to injuries and his game suffered badly for it. With others recruited and back in his own position his quality is quite evident, agreed he's not World Class but certainly more than good enough for the Scottish game.
Stevie Mallan is another who is a very decent talent but ball winning isn't his strengths so playing him anchoring the midfield didn't work. Played further forward with a bit more freedom and once again looks like the player who started the season on fire.
McNulty scores his first Hibs goal today so hopefully that will be the first of many and certainly will have increased his confidence.
His strike partner Kamberi, very much central to all the recent carry on has been putting in shifts the past few games. Albeit he hasn't been hitting the goals trail, that will come and he proved last year his qualities.
Hopefully Appleton will get the best out of our squad and you might never know we could still break into that top six yet. Our squad is certainly comparable or better to most sitting above us and he's got a track record of promoting youth. I'm speculating but I'd imagine that was his major selling point at the recent interviews!
NEW MAN. NEW HOPE. GGTTH.

I stated on 6/ 7/ 18 I was getting nervous about the SJM situation I'm now extremely nervous. Why don't we contact Celtic and ask for Allan and Christie plus cash? It isn't a secret SJM wants to go there so is there any point in risking him signing a pre-contract in January? Lennon can't operate properly in the market until this deal is concluded the longer it takes the more we're playing with fire. English transfer deadline has been brought forward once that passes power in the McGinn negotiations changes hands!
16 Jul 2018 02:32:35
As I stated on here last week I've got faith in the board mainly LD to get us the best deals possible but starting to get concerned with the McGinn situation. Some sources say we're holding out for 2m plus Allan and Christie on loan which would be great business and I'd certainly be a happy Hibee! My concern is we allow SJM to sign a pre-contract in January and lose potentially 4m which would be financial suicide. If the above deal goes ahead coupled with McLaren signing on again in place of Murray. GGTTH.

McCrorie is a decent player who I'd of liked to have seen at Easter Road but in the current market overpriced at £350k plus sell on percentage. Docherty at £400k would of been a better but can't expect to match Hull's wages! I'm actually delighted with Hibs on this one as the stumbling block was Rangers didn't want McCrorie playing against them and we've stood our ground, disappointed we've lost out on the player but fair play to our lot. However this clearly demonstrates we've got capital for a marquee midfielder and we'll move onto other targets but attempt to broker a deal in our favour. Exciting times at Easter Road just now as we appear to be progressing along nicely! GGTTH.

I actually feel a bit sorry for Hallberg he's been played in a defensive midfield position whereas his favoured position is a box to box midfielder. The signing of Gogic would possibly allow him the opportunity to showcase what he can do and the fact he's been capped at every youth level for Sweden suggests he's more than capable. Unfortunately with Scott Allan, Stevie Mallan and Joe Newell on the books and Jack Ross' apparent willingness to play with wingers I would expect Melker to be allowed to depart if someone comes in. Greg Docherty was fantastic for the Hibees and injected some much needed drive, if we can somehow trade Kamberi back to Rangers for his return it is a no brainer but in all likelihood that makes Hallberg surplus to requirements. GGTTH.

Unbelievable effort from The Hibees today THREE SIGNINGS which were all identified and captured despite interest from other clubs. The club asked the fans to back them financially during the virus and we delivered but in return so has the club! The signing of Nisbet is a real sign of strength and although no signing is a guarantee looks like a great piece of business. Hopefully a couple of 20+ goal seasons and on to pastures new with the club banking a handsome profit. Social Media is full of St Johnstone fans claiming Drey Wright will be the signing of the summer, fingers crossed. Alex Gogic should be the missing piece of the jigsaw and make is far more functional. Get shot of Kamberi with Docherty returning. I'd be a very happy Hibee. GGTTH.
06 Jul 2020 13:13:20
Gogic for me should be the priority signing, possibly underwhelming in some supporters eyes but he would make the team more functional. His stats last year confirm he breaks up the play and does the unseen stuff better than anyone we currently have on the books. We have enough players with quality to win games but it's the ugly side we need to improve on and Gogic at 26 years old in my opinion remedies that. Personally I think a 3/ 4 year deal should be offered as his wage demands won't break the bank coming from Hamilton.
I'd love to see Nisbet come in but with the current uncertainty surrounding Scottish Football can't see us paying the transfer fee required to obtain his services. GGTTH.

Medical passed, not to sure on contract length as of yet, Jack Ross has been tracking him for months apparently. He certainly carries pace and St Johnstone were desperate for him to stay, possibly a rough diamond awaiting polishing after a lengthy injury a couple of years ago.
According to Dempster today it's the Scottish Transfer market we will predominantly be focusing on which hopefully implies Alec Gogic (ex Hamilton) will be next through the door. Every Hibee knows we've been missing that "Matty Jack" player for too long and last years SPFL stats show that Gogic fits the bill. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let's get this one done quickly before we lose out on the perfect solution!
