Stubbs has done nothing so far. If we want to finish 2nd then Stubbs will do that, but if ee want to win league then we'd need another manager.
People make out he is great with no evidence of it. Just because he is better than Fenlon (although more hammerings by Rangers might change that) doesn't mean he is great. Hearts absolutely dominated last season and there was little reason as to why we couldn't do the same, considering they had half a new 1st 11 too!

As for Scott Allan, Rangers gave insulting bids, so we should put a £1m price tag on him plus a percentage from 2 future transfers. See how they like it.

McAware - Stubbs has done nothing! Good style of football, young team, sorted huge issues in the background, good team around him, great knowledge of the game and good contacts.

Hearts were the form team before they went down and had a good squad who were used to each other. Stubbs had to pull a squad together.

Get real and get behind the man. Think before you talk. The guy will make mistakes but he is the best manager we have had for while.

I have to disagree with that, their were fans on AS back from the start given no consideration to the mess he inherited. He had to get players in when their was very little money due to the fans being upset over relegation, he expected some of Evertons young guys, that never happened, he took us to the semi of the cup and 2nd in the league and played some of the best football I've seen at ER for a long time. I think AS has done a good job so far and I look forward to this season with a great deal of optimism!!

I can see were Aware is coming from. If you`re playing Devils Advocate, he`s right in saying Stubbs hasn`t achieved anything as yet. Not being promoted and not reaching the cup final after out playing a poor Falkirk team are major disapointments. On the other hand he has produced better football, found players like Scott Allan and seems much more approachable than Fenlon ever was.
It would seem harsh in the slightest to sack Stubbs before the season begins because of Awares concerns, especially after he`s signed a new contract and more so not giving in to the bully boy tactics employed by Rangers and Scott Allan`s agent. Other Hibs managers in the past would have crumbled and taken the easy way out but fair play to Stubbs he`s stuck his neck out, so let's get behind him. (Petrie give him some cash)

He`s got a hell of a job, getting Allan`s head right for a start, nobody knows how that will pan out and getting promoted, even if it is through the play-offs, that`s all that counts. If promotion doesn`t come, then Mr.Aware would then be more entitled to come back on next year and say that he should be sacked.

Stubbs has brought in some good players. I can't remember having a decent rb since steven whittaker, now we have Gray. Fyvie and allan are good enough for most SPL sides. Fontaine is solid. Lewis stevenson and domonique malonga shave eachothers chest hair

Mr Aware --Are you serious ? Stubbs inherited a Club that was on their knees, were going nowhere playing atrocious football, at that time you would have seen a better game between 10yr olds down Leith Links, in a very short space of time he has grabbed the CLUB by the scruff of the neck, dragged it out of the mire and has the team playing football the way it is supposed to be. True we haven't won anything [yet], but give him time, Stubbs, imo, is the best manager we have had since Mowbray, perhaps even Turnbull [time will tell on that score].

Piquet68,

Is it a good style of football though? Plenty of games where it just seems we will never score unless Allan pulls out a peach of a pass. What will we do when he leaves? Expect Fraser "pass the buck" Fyvie to do it?
Young team means nothing if they aren't good enough. Handling 4 year contract for what? Explain that one!
Good contacts like who? All we got was Kennedy.

Hearts changed half their team! Too many Hibs fans give excuses while Hearts just get on with it and don't give any excuses!

Think before I speak the TRUTH?

Auld Yin,

It's irrelevant where we were. Ross County sign a huge amount of players every season and never complain! I've already explained this when Fenlon was in charge! Stop coming up with excuse and just get on with it!
Turnbull? I have to ask if you're serious now? The guy who fell out with everyone, lost out on Gordon Strachan and got us relegated - aye, good one!

You all need to remember we only got 70pts last season. McLeish gave no excuses and got on with it. No excuses to not reach 80pts but loses to Alloa and continuous failure against Falkirk are just non-excusable.

Think I need to stick up for Eddie Turnbull after the last post, fair enough towards the end of his reign the team didn't perform very well but the team of the early seventies was by far the best team in my lifetime. The football they played was excellent, they were regularly challenging for league and cup honours and became a well known name across Europe with some fabulous displays in the UEFA cup.
Turnbull wasn't necessary responsible for bringing them all to ER but created the playing style and brought them together as a fabulous attack minded side.
When was the last time Hibs had 3 players score 99 goals between them in a season (Gordon, O'Rouke and Duncan) in all games?
