If we can get in a tall robust no nonsense central defender (jonesy type) and Scott Allan, I think we'll be a match for anyone in this league.

This might not be what people want to hear but I have a friend that has contacts wi rangers and apparently hibs are talking to the former livy man Miller.

2.) 28 Aug 2018 04:08:09
Still think we could do with another striker as well.
Oli is decent and will score a few but genuinely don’t think he’s ready. If Kamberi or Mclaren are injered it means we bring in oli or Shaw the whole formation of the team. Mclaren and Kamberi get injured or suspended later on in the season we could find ourselves in trouble.

3.) 28 Aug 2018 04:11:08
Tell your friend he’s no got a clue clearly.

4.) 30 Aug 2018 23:28:37
I would take miller.

5.) 30 Aug 2018 11:51:49
You would but hibs wouldn’t!

6.) 31 Aug 2018 232:46:53
Tommo, Lennon rates him that's why he has spoken to him I'm not sure your a hibby mate.

Sir John McGinn will forever be welcomed back to ER and embedded in the history of HFC. Hope your career is massive going forward. We look forward to seeing you blossom on the International stage too. Thank you SJM for some great football memories GGTTH.

1.) 08 Aug 2018 18:05:31
SJM is quite simply a Hibee legend!
10% sell on seemingly part of deal which could easy range from 2.5-5m alone in the inflated English transfer market.
All the best John FOREVER A HIBEE.

26 Jul 2018 23:47:24
So if anybody had any doubts about sir John McGinns head and commitment right now, then if you'd been at the game last night you'd see just how good he is and that he is not affected by speculation. He is certainly worth 3 million right now and celtic should put up or shut up. I'll gladly see him run out his contract on showings like this. Drive, spirit, determination and skill. A player still with much more to come. Ggtth.

And one of the first over to Flo to celebrate the winner!

2.) 27 Jul 2018 11:19:01
aklistair I don't doubt for a second the commitment of SJM and he was SENSATIONAL last night along with two or three others ie Boyle and Mallan. However despite our amazing second half performance you've got to be honest enough to concede we are lacking quality in certain areas as the first half clearly highlighted. Unfortunately SJM is our most valuable asset and to assist Lennon in the transfer market in my opinion we'd be better cashing in now rather than lose him for nothing. If (? ) LD can negotiate a decent fee and (? ) players long term I just think it would be more beneficial to the club. (I wouldn't be heartbroken if he stayed) I don't know about anyone else but we could do with someone reliable in goals. BOGDAN IS NOT THE ANSWER! SHOCKER!

3.) 29 Jul 2018 06:28:33
Mallan sensational? We’re you at the game? take his goals away from his first 3 games and his general play has been nothing more than average again on Thursday no goals no domination of midfield he’s of the pace.

30 May 2018 23:14:33
What's anyone's thoughts on Stevie Mallan joining our midfield? Omg we could have such a good team at ER if it all fell into place. Danny Swanson will be a better player for us next season too if he stays. The Andy Murray connection could be phenomenal too. He'll be a draw for young players with aspirations of top success. I've been supporting our team for 45 years and I don't recall ever feeling this feeling of optimism, excitement and belief for the coming season. If only it could all come together at the same time for once. Get your seasons bought and just maybe the dream will be realised.

At this moment in time I couldn't give a flying duck who we're signing. I'm more concerned about who will not be here from last season. Everyone's saying SA has signed and that's cool, if true. We could however lose Dylan, McGinn and our two strikers from last season. That lot are going to take some replacing and that's a worry.

2.) 02 Jun 2018 23:16:51
Think mclaren will be back that's nearly a done deal kimberie I'm sure Lennon will be on the case if mcginn goes will gladly take the £3m + for him and again I'm sure Lennon will sort out a great midfield I've no worries.

29 May 2018 13:56:06
If John McGinn goes to Celtic for cash plus Scott Allan and a loan back deal for next season - think that would be great for all parties. We'd maybe find Dylan McGeouch would be happy to sign for an extended period to continue playing in that same class mid field. After that kamberi MacClaren and Barker might not be able to resist (of course all depending on their parent clubs etc)

aklistair

1.) 29 May 2018 15:05:57
Dye would be happy with this but we have no problem with kambari or mcclaren oth wan to play for hibs and I think they w be there next season and I would take Scott Allen plus £1.5 - £2m.

How about trying to get Michael O Neill in. Yes let him continue to manage Northern Ireland. He already lives in Edinburgh too.
Any thoughts?

Bogdan looked sound again today. Good at coming out to collect crosses. Looked assured comfortable. Hopefully onwards and upwards with him now. I was thinking we could do with a good strong Jones times defender but Porteous was man of the match v the well. So another creative strong midfielder maybe? Any more whispers of a Barker return or anyone else?

Islam being the talent that he is will up the crowd numbers to ER.

A master stroke by HIBS

Reminds me of when Hibs brought George Best to ER.

Different scenario now though. That season we went down. Now I think we'll go up!

GGTTH

Now all you lost fans and doubters . get back to ER on Saturday's ;)

aklistair

1.) 03 Sep 2015 13:28:06

Okay _ I was at the game yesterday and yeah we were pumped in the end.

However consider this before panic sets in and all the doom & gloomsters get their pens out.

Yesterday we had Stanton, Martin, Lewis Allan, Forster all on from the start.

No Boyle, Scott Allan until mid second half, Bartley, Carmichael, Alagui or Keatings.

Grump n groan and moan as much as you like but we did not play our strongest team.

Stubbs obviously prioritised and is not interested in this daft cup. me neither.

Glad we don't have to worry about it anymore. Less chance of injuries and we can focus on real cups and promotion.

Sevco? Well let them bask in their glorious fools gold.

PS To all Gers. Sing what you like about Scott Allan but at the end of the day he's signed to Hibs.

PPS These people singing his name were the same people bombarding him with missiles at Castle Grey Skull only a couple of months ago.

aklistair

1.) 26 Jul 2015 10:52:09
You do know castle grey skull is where he-man lived ?

2.) 26 Jul 2015 14:37:37
Realists tell the facts. Why be positive about a situation that isn't positive?

Most of those players you mentioned are injury prone and Stubbs signed them.

"Buy your season ticket early so we can buy good faster"
Erm, 2 new outfield faces who are injured and Reguero already had a howler.

There is nothing to suggest this will be a good season again at this current moment. Players like Fyvie don't actually do anything that can help us win a game.

Only positive i could see was that Cummings was winning us pen, free-kicks and throw-ins, whereas last season he would simply get tackled and they would gain possession.

Lots of positive talk there but we can't make the tic give us more money and we can't make them give us players either. We have to sit tight. I'm on the side of the board.

As long as we have Lennon and Dempster at the helm, we have to and can trust their decisions though.

I agree with Tomo. I get your drift Tam but I'd rather see McGinn at ER next year. A huge change in midfield all at once could be damaging to us. If we keep McGinn then we'll have a more gentle transition of midfielders with less disturbance to the team as a whole. Yes we'd lose the cash left over from St mirrens due's but what we stand to gain in league position and Europe hopefully helps counter that loss, as well as having the benefit of the player too of course. Who knows, he might even sign an improved and extended contract! lol yes ok, dreaming a bit on that last point.

Remains to be seen. We need to see if we get more of the out of contract players resigned and others to advance our strength and depth. Also who knows what the Sev Co lot will be like and whom they'll be signing

Oxley would be good to have back at ER but I'd prefer him as back up to someone better

Scott Allan is brilliant but so too is Leigh. I'd happily swop just the two of them! McGeough as part of the deal and that would be amazing.

We have good midfielders and they are easier to come by than proven goal scorers.

How many more games would we have won with Leigh in our side last season even without Scott Allan?

A lot more I say.

But hey Leigh will never be back at Hibs now and Scott will be with us for at least the coming season so no point in wondering
