Scott Allen on his way looks like he's getting the boot at celtic.

08 Jan 2019 15:36:40
Hibs looking for to get Lewis Morgan on loan as boules season seems to be over.

could be a good signing as an alternative to Gauld. He was supposed to get to Dubai and sign on Monday, then it was Tuesday now it's wednesday and still no sign of him. His last game was last saturday. If he is not desperate to sign then tell him "on your bike". let's face it he has hardly set the heather on fire in portugal. we need players who want to play for us.

09 Jan 2019 16:59:33
That’s Boyle lol.

07 Jan 2019 17:24:43
Lennon says he wants 1 or possibly 2 strikers in this window. Also rumours McLaren's loan deal might be cut short (shame it has not worked out ths time) . Also hearing Gauld's loan could turn into a permanent deal in the summer if it works out. Also Byrne from Livi is apparently a possibility. I just hope he get some of these deals finalised so the players can get settled in.

08 Jan 2019 01:05:21
I still think strikers is a waste of time without a midfield that can compete and retain the ball.

The ones we have have shown they can score goals in front of a midfield that can do that.
I'd be happy with another player like Slivka to be honest, does a bit of everything decently well and gets stuck in.
With two players like that in the middle we'd be a bit better defensively and it'd allow Mallan/ Gauld/ Allan some space to link up and do what they're better at, creating.

I also wonder if McLaren's poor form has anything to do with getting him cheaply at the end of the season.
He's barely played and when he has he's been thrown on with little time to do anything. Maybe he's been told to stay fit and prep for then.

If we sign Futacs be prepared for lots of route one with a lightweight midfield. Smacks a bit of desperation, plus he's quite old and has never been the fittest of players so I don't see it being great.

06 Jan 2019 01:22:44
Gauld deal done!
Scott Allan next PLEASE
If we've been offered striker Marko Futacs as been reported get him on board too looks like he could give us another dimension. We've not had a target man at Easter Road for years and this boy could be the answer.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2019 15:59:13
haven't seen Gauld confirmed but agree he could be a good signing.
worry about scott allan though, he could have been signed on a pre contract but no sign of it. think either him or hibs have other options. last thing we need is a target man, we need forwards to play off a target man. kamberi at his best is a good target man. notice OZ failed to score against jordon with mclaren up front. no more needs said.

06 Jan 2019 19:50:50
spanishhibby I can't see Allan joining before end of month as Celtic will try and get some money for him first, we'll need to trust he'll insist ER is his next move and is prepared to hold out. Unless the board stump up some money I think most likely it'll be another prolonged drawn out process.

I disagree I think a target man to hold the ball up and win the aerial battles is exactly what Lennon is crying out for hence his bemoaning of Kamberi. We're still putting crosses into the box despite our decreased quality from the engine room but we're not capitalising on them, in truth we're not even challenging for most of them. Kamberi will score more off the second ball with a towering partner taking the bumps and bruises, McLaren I suspect will be sent packing not performing and unavailable too often.

Agyepong remains an enigmatic mystery, promised so much but either injury or lack of desire to play probably confirms why Lennon is searching for what appears to be a direct replacement in the English loan market. I'd be amazed if we're going to play with what is normally classed as two luxury players, especially two that are unproven in the professional ranks.

I suspect an all action midfielder will be high up on the wish list, albeit most likely not of SJM's quality. With the exception of Mallan no other midfielder has nailed down a starting place so far and I think Mallan has suffered for it. We forget he's only a boy himself, before SJM left Mallan looked like a world beater and some quality alongside him would relieve some pressure.

08 Jan 2019 20:53:22
I beg to differ Stevie Mallan has at no time looked a world beater, other than deadball situation he offers nothing! We all would look better players with better players around us but I would rather we just had better players than mallan!

04 Jan 2019 14:34:50
Rumours from the other side of Pennines is that Gary Hooper is back in light training. He is out of contract end of season, needs game time somewhere. if we could afford.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 23:43:56
No thanks.

05 Jan 2019 05:25:00
Maybe on a pre contract for next season but what use is he to us right now when we need to turn out season around?

Can't afford to wait a month or two for him to regain match fitness and form.

05 Jan 2019 18:22:52
He'd certainly be a marquee signing but agree with above let's no let the heart rule the head, right now he's not what we need. Signed on a pre-contract and fully fit for the next campaign absolutely but right now we need players ready to go straight into action and hopefully fire us to European football.
In the current financial climate and our restricted finances I'm surprised we've not ventured more into the pre-contract world. I'll concede Danny Swanson for example didn't turn out to be the player we hoped for us but I don't think we should be put off. I'll confess I'm jealous Rangers look like they've brought in Glen Kamara and Jordan Jones on these deals, two I'd of taken happily.

05 Jan 2019 19:09:35
Pre-contracts would be good, unfortunately we have neither the money or a manager willing to utilise them.
Lennon doesn't seem to like them at all and prefers to work in real time, which kinda goes against all the stuff he's said about building for a strong future.

January is a rubbish time to have to sign players and it makes signing quality difficult, forcing us to look at loans because he'd rather have a player now than prepare forthe following season.
So we get mixed results for 4-5 months an then look at signing players that we've brought in already or lose out because other teams pay more for the form the player showed with us.

I thought Swanson was decent - whenever he came into the side he showed spirit and ability (utterly destroyed Brown at Easter Rd at the end of last season for the whole time he played), but there must have been more to it behind the scenes.

I'd like to see Gauld come in but it's unusual for the press to have a story of interest at all, it's never how we do business, so I'm sceltical there's much in it.

03 Jan 2019 23:10:47
Looks like Gauld could be coming to hibs.

03 Jan 2019 23:17:32
Efe returning to celtic and hibs signing gauld.

01 Jan 2019 17:15:35
As expected Hyndman sent back to Bournemouth I wouldn't be surprised if Nelom and Agyepong follow suit. Scott Allan remains our top target and hopefully a loan for Mulumbu could be negotiated while we're at it! Ross McCormack, Eaves and Shankland being mentioned and I'd welcome all three as Kamberi needs help ASAP! Shaw isn't physically ready and McLaren for whatever reason has fallen out of favour.
SIGNINGS REQUIRED SEND CV TO EASTER ROAD.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jan 2019 05:43:36
Should've signed Mulumbu in the summer, still don't know why he went there - he was never going to get a game.
I know the money is the best he could hope for at his age etc but rotting away your last 2 or 3 years on the bench is a waste.

04 Jan 2019 02:42:11
Wether you believe me or not there are many players who don’t care about playing every week as long as the moneys right Mulumbu at his age dosnt care! and Scott Allan is one greedy guy! Who will go to the highest bidder regardless of who that is.

04 Jan 2019 22:27:51
I said the same thing about Allan before we brought him back on loan before, thankfully it worked out pretty well.

If we don't sign harder working midfielders that can shut the ball down and win/ pass it Allan will be ineffective if he comes back again.

Gauld is another lightweight attacking midfielder too.

At this rate we'll be playing 3 or 4 number 8s in midfield with none of them putting a tackle in or closing the ball down.

04 Jan 2019 22:55:47
Gauld would/ will be a great signing and proved before he left Scotland that he had an appetite for the game constantly wanting the ball looking to make things happen. Scott Allan we all know what he brings to the table if we can come to a compromise with Celtic and in fairness the player himself who has previously put finances ahead of his career.

However I do agree we need to balance any "creative" signings with upgraded Marvin Bartley type players which I thought we had initially with Milligan. Hence why I would certainly enquire about Mulumbu who was magnificent for Killie in this role last season second only to SJM in grabbing the games by the scruff of the neck. I trust Lennon to find the remedy this transfer window. GGTTH.

01 Jan 2019 15:50:28
It appears that Aberdeen are not chasing Scott Allan from what I can see on the Aberdeen instant news. No mention of him at all. Hearing a lot about gunnerson coming back and Ross McCormack on loan.

29 Dec 2018 20:56:18
Hope lennons target is a out and out striker to help kamberi or get rid of kamberi.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 01:47:11
I agree we need another striker but i think we need to look at our midfield more, for years we've been screaming out for goal scoring midfielders now we've got that, but they don't seem to play the ball forward through the middle enough for my liking anymore. All we do is cross the ball and we score maybe 1 in 40 crosses. Lennons blaming kamberi and mclaren for not scoring but the service they are receiving is horrific compared to last season. And they have startes only 6 games together. lennon needs to build his team around them both imo.

30 Dec 2018 10:10:25
Looks like we're going to miss out on Scott Allan but I do agree agayponga is great but he's far to injury prone hardly saw him this season.

03 Jan 2019 02:01:22
I agree with someone else who said it before - our problems stem from midfield;

The forwards didn't suddenly all become gash since last season, they just aren't good enough to win a game on their own.

Losing SJM and McGeouch, with Allan going back to Celtic, means we're missing two hard working players that cover ground, close the ball down and can tackle but also carry/ pass it and find space to support it in wide areas plus an attacking passer and set piece taker that can carve a defence open and beat a man or 3.

It's a big ask to replace it with our budget and we haven't.

If we don't find players who can control a midfield like we became accustomed to there's no point signing strikers just to watch them all fail miserably.

26 Dec 2018 20:45:31
Good source just told me Aberdeen are favs to land Scott Alan offering a lot more than hibs.

27 Dec 2018 11:07:32
He left the cabbage the first time to suposidly go on to bigger and better things and if he does it again then hell meand him.

Can't see it but who really cares.

14 Dec 2018 21:03:35
Hearing a from a few different sources that we are possibly in for cumdog to return to ER. Anyone have any thoughts?

17 Dec 2018 01:13:44
Don’t want him proven championship goalscorer, struggled when asked to step up a league week in week out, struggled everywhere he’s went since leaving hibs attitude iffy to say the least, Scott Alan, kamara &eaves would do me.

17 Dec 2018 12:04:52
No thanks.

27 Dec 2018 11:04:33
You’ve not heard from any sources you’ve actually just made the whole thing up in your head. Like many that’s left hibs before him they always think they are better than what they actually are. Plenty examples out their Scott Allen being one of them. It’s not until they leave that they realise they have made a James hunt of things GGTTH.

27 Dec 2018 21:23:46
Well said hibby.

30 Dec 2018 01:24:38
Actually hibby I heard talk of the potential move for cummings at the start of december from a few different people but that was just talk and it was before hibees posted it so he's not just made it up in his head, like me probably just heard it from people talking about it.

11 Jan 2019 20:03:35
Would you look at that, the papers are now stating hibs are possibly interested in cummings, yet i just “made it up”.

11 Dec 2018 04:50:42
Dundees adil Nabi On hibs radar as possible January signing.

17 Dec 2018 12:05:22

03 Sep 2018 00:01:15
Hope ones a good striker.

03 Sep 2018 16:11:14
Thank god we didn’t buy Mclaren and got him on loan. Without goals from mallan and forgan I don’t know where we would be.

04 Sep 2018 02:40:10
Mclaren is a box striker and performed well last season because he had the service. As soon as kamberi is back, the two of them (with the service required from midfield) will score 30 plus between them. I do however feel we still need another striker as shaw imo just doesn’t have it in him yet. Get him to a championship team for a season/ half a season and you’ll see an improved better player.

04 Sep 2018 15:24:13
McLaren will come good also can't wait for ayaponga.

02 Sep 2018 09:03:48
Watch hubs go into free fall after today's result bottom 6 Lennon will be away by Christmas said before e need a out and out striker but no hibs again won't spend money we should be walking games against these wee teams.

Agree1 Disagree11

02 Sep 2018 10:13:21
I think people are starting to panic a bit needlessly.
Yea that performance was shocking but we are only 4 games into the season guys.
There are a couple of other teams as Well that I thought would have been doing a bit better to. ( Aberdeen )
(Celtic) and even rangers who have spent a lot of money and conceded 3 goals to a poor Motherwell team.
Lennon said after the livi game that he got it wrong and he needs to work on the tactics which we can all see needs altered.
I have no doubt that hibs will come good when our missing players come back.
(Kamberi)
(Gray)
(Milligan)
(McGregor)
And our ace number 1 goalkeeper.
We have been unlucky with visas for 2 players but this team will have valuable training time over the next 2 weeks. Keep the faith guys GGTTH.

02 Sep 2018 13:59:32
the pitch was also disgrace Livi play and train on it every day and the amount of dirt that was coming up was terrible we also missed 3 chances before half time instead of keeping ball down they rise the ball (to avoid the dirt coming up) so ball ballons over bar.

{Ed007's Note - It's not dirt, it's small rubber pellets and shouldn't be allowed.}

03 Sep 2018 02:45:32
Hibsboy you speak a lot of nonsense bottom 6 and Lennon away by Xmas because we had a bad game
Get a grip. Just as well your not the manager ah
You’d be panic buying for sure.

03 Sep 2018 09:57:01
That dismal performance had nothing to do with the pitch. Defending was absolutely terrible. We are lacking bite in the midfield and unless kamberi plays we have absolutely nothing up top. He creates for maclaren because without someone there to tee him up maclarens guff. Shaw is heartless and needs to be farmed out, fortunately for him we don't have the depth. Lennon needs a full compliment to pick from to find a starting 11 that will compete or come the winter break we will be struggling for the top 6. It's still early days but I fear his mentality when things aren't going right so the sooner we can sort it out the better. Hopefully Milligan provides what we lack in midfield and this agyepong can be a good attacking provider.

04 Sep 2018 15:26:41
Hibby07 have you watch last few games absolute garbage we should be putting 5 past silly wee teams, and as for Lennon trust me I hope he stays but I think this will be his last season, but in Lennon I trust.

05 Sep 2018 13:37:06
I too like Lennon but i do feel he relies to heavily on tactics that worked last season. As we all know, we lost our 3 main central midfielders and they are what the tactics were built around. Lennon had obviously tried his hardest to bring in the appropriate replacements but unfortunately hasn't been 100% successful in doing this. don't get me wrong i highly rate Mallan and the rest of his signings but as the positions he's brought them in for its wrong. Imo we should revert back to a simple 4-4-2. Use our players jn their strongest positions instead of trying to swap players around like whittiker in centre mid or boyle as a striker, it just doesn't work. As soon as Lennon realises this, things will fall into place.

28 Aug 2018 13:42:33
Hibs have bn in contact with Dundee first reports was it was about midfielder Kamara I'm now hearing it was maybe caulker they are after Danny Swanson going the other way.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Aug 2018 16:24:52
Wouldn’t mind either but if my memory serves then I am sure that Dundee turned down a sustantial offer for Caulker more than what Celtic payed for Hendry. Would love Kamara, caulker could be a possibility as I’ve heard efe could be off.

31 Aug 2018 23:35:42
Danny's not had a chance at hibs bit unfair as I think he's a quality player.

27 Aug 2018 11:55:11
If we can get in a tall robust no nonsense central defender (jonesy type) and Scott Allan, I think we'll be a match for anyone in this league.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2018 14:50:19
This might not be what people want to hear but I have a friend that has contacts wi rangers and apparently hibs are talking to the former livy man Miller.

28 Aug 2018 04:08:09
Still think we could do with another striker as well.
Oli is decent and will score a few but genuinely don’t think he’s ready. If Kamberi or Mclaren are injered it means we bring in oli or Shaw the whole formation of the team. Mclaren and Kamberi get injured or suspended later on in the season we could find ourselves in trouble.

28 Aug 2018 04:11:08
Tell your friend he’s no got a clue clearly.

30 Aug 2018 23:28:37
I would take miller.

30 Aug 2018 11:51:49
You would but hibs wouldn’t!

31 Aug 2018 232:46:53
Tommo, Lennon rates him that's why he has spoken to him I'm not sure your a hibby mate.
